About The Team
The O'Meara Racing Team started it's plans for Quarter Midget racing a few years ago when the oldest of two children tapped dad on the shoulder and said "we can do this!" After a few weeks of talking the plans over the family dove in and made the purchase of their first race car for Jimmy. In his very first years young Jimmy would show interest in mechanical and powerd things. Riding a two wheeler (no training wheels) at 2 1/2yrs old would stop the passing cars as they watched. Things progressed from their to converting electric "Power Wheels" cars into engine free coasters and dragsters and converting the family two wheel dolly into a jet powerd trailer. Molly would express an interest in the driving expireance at the ripe old age of 6yrs old and as expected expressed a level of confidence second to none. "Returning in 2003" Molly has agreed to support the fan club and mandatory visits to the competition and their food supplies. Jim will be regional director this year and Natalie will do her part as support for tower, concession etc..
WHAT WE DRIVE

The 2002 season will have Jimmy behind the wheel of both an 80" GT American & 80" Fast Track. These cars are fully adjustable replicas fo the midgets famous for their high power to weight ratio. Both cars are similar to each other in design and set up. The shocks are coil over Trimble, The engines are both Honda, the tires are dunlop, and the safety gear is all fire proof. The cars are extremley "off-set" which means the Body is closer to the drivers side tires than the passengers. This allows for the cars to travel around the paved oval at an average lap time of 6 seconds or so. The cars have full roll cages and fiberglass bodies. The rear axle and gears are live which means that they have no transmission to shift or bog the engine down. As with any sport there are those who will spend anything to win a race. We aim to help curve that population.
